 Coffee Education:

  • Espresso: This is coffee at its pure original form, strong and black, very less in quantity but has a power-packed kick. You can always order regular coffee with a shot of espresso to make it little bit stronger as well.
  • Café latte: It is espresso with steamed milk although it is may also be served with a little foam on top. Latte traditionally has less foam than cappuccino. Café au lait is similar to latte but is made with brewed coffee instead of espresso.
  • Breve: Do you want an espresso but in latte form with half and half steamed milk? It’s called café breve which can be served with cream as well.
  •  Café Mocha: Mocha has come to mean a latte or a cappuccino with chocolate syrup or hot cocoa but it can vary from café to café. Mocha was a port in Yemen, s country which used to be a major coffee growing nation which has absolutely no connection with chocolate. It is unknown how coffee with chocolate syrup came to be known as mocha.
  • Cappuccino: Made with equal quantities of espresso, steamed milk and froth cappuccino is an extremely popular drink. Italian in origin cappuccino has made its mark in popular imagination in very part of the world. A dry cappuccino is the same except it has less foam and no steamed milk.
  •  Espresso Macchiato: There are two versions of it long and short, while the short refers to one shot of espresso with a dash of milk, the long is made with two shots of espresso with small quantity of milk. The trick in macchiato is in pouring the milk in such a manner that it does not reach the bottom of the glass.
  • Café Americano: This is simply put espresso diluted with equal amount of hot water although there are controversies related to this view. It would be advisable to ask for clarification before ordering.
  • Café Corretto too is strong espresso only it is made with a little bit of alcohol.
  • Irish coffee is another favorite world wide and is made with a dash of Irish Whisky with cream on top.
